Anfield boss keen on Argentine international.
Liverpool are plotting a bid for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to his agent.
The Argentina international has been at Napoli since 2007 and has scored 35 goals in 122 Serie A appearances since then.
But now his agent Jose Alberti says Liverpool have been tracking him for a year and could make their move this summer.
“Lavezzi has been followed by Liverpool for twelve months and they could make a bid for his services,” he told Italian website TMW.
“Napoli must be careful not to lose a player like Lavezzi.”

By all accounts Kenny Dalglish sees Ezequiel Lazezzi as a player who can form a attacking trio that could well form one of the most feared strike partnership in the Premier League. The 25 year old Napoli man has been in excellent form this season and has formed an important part of a forward line up at the Serie A club with the likes of Edinson Cavani who is the joint top scorer in Italy this season.
Even though Liverpool have brought in Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in January it appears that Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli are looking to beef up the club’s front line and have been chasing Lavezz for some time.
The pint sized Argentine international could well help the club push on towards a top four finish next term and Napoli apparently value Lavezzi at around £18m and may well be a wise addition given that aside from Dirk Kuyt there are not many other goal scoring options in the attacking area with the likes of Milan Jovanovic and David Ngog failing to inspire much in the way of confidence.
