Is the ‘Special One’ a bad influence on the La Liga giants.
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has blasted boss Jose Mourinho and his players for their outspoken views following recent matches with arch rivals Barcelona.
The Bernbeu boss even went as far as to allege some sort of conspiracy between UEFA and the Catalan club and his opinions have hurt Real Madrid according to Calderon, who stated in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.
“To talk like that has been harmful for us, big clubs should not blame the referee for their mistakes or their defeats,” said Calderon.
“We invested £400m in the last two years to be a very important and strong team so if you lose you cannot blame injuries, bad luck, referees or nothing. If you lose you have to congratulate the rival and that is all.
“What he [Mourinho] did in terms of talking about Uefa and referees is not acceptable at all.”
It does appear that Jose Mourinho’s position is in very real danger and not just because he will in all likelihood lose out on a La Liga title but also because his demeanour and attitude are not winning any friends and could well harm the club in the long run, as Mr. Calderon asserts.
Remember also that previous boss Manuel Pellegrini was axed despite collecting a record points haul and he did so without putting noses out of joint.
