Donbass Arena duo could be on their way to Eastlands this summer.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will make a sensational £27million double swoop for Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian duo Douglas Costa and Willian.
The Blues’ boss sees the Samba stars as the perfect players to bring more flair to his star-studded midfield.
The pair have been watched by Eastlands staff many times on their way to a first Champions League quarter-final for the Ukrainian club.
The 22-year-old Willian is valued at £16million but Mancini faces competition from Arsenal counter-part Arsene Wenger to capture the attacking midfielder’s signature.
Costa was reportedly a guest of the City manager to watch the 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers in March.
The 20-year-old has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Italian clubs Napoli and Roma.
But his agent Cesar Bottega has confirmed City are interested in the player and have made first contact over a transfer.
“I have spoken a few times with Manchester City,” Bottega told notiziariosportivo.com.
“They have shown interest in the player and are now considering whether to enter into a negotiation or not.
“I am planning a trip to Europe in a fortnight, but if something were to change I’m ready to leave earlier.
“Napoli have followed the player’s performance in the Champions League, then I don’t know if there were concrete contacts, I have not been contacted.
“Logically, they will first, in any case, contact the company.”
