Bloomfield Road hero wants to stay in the Premier League.
Blackpool captain Charlie Adam has revealed his future lies away from Bloomfield Road because he wants to remain in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old has had an incredible debut campaign in England’s top flight and has been the star of the Seasider’s season.
He attracted interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in January but manager Ian Holloway decided to keep his talisman in a bid to stave off relegation.
It is rumoured his performances have even caught the eye of Sir Alex Ferguson who is looking for a replacement for veteran Paul Scholes.
But Blackpool went down on a dramatic final day at Old Trafford leaving Adam with a tough decision to make.
Blackpool activated an option this week to extend his contract for another 12 months meaning clubs will have to pay at least £10million for his services.
Adam knows he has to leave to meet his ambitions but will always remember his time at Blackpool with great fondness.
“At the end of the day, my future will get sorted one way or another,” Adam said. “It’s not me who makes that decision.
“The club have been fantastic with me and since I went there, since day one, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
“It’s important that, whatever happens, I will always remember my time at Blackpool.”
