New Imtech Arena director wants Stamford Bridge starlet.
Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is the subject of a cheeky £4.5million bid from Hamburg’s new director of sport Frank Arnesen.
The Daily Express reports the West London club are furious with their former sporting director for having the audacity to try and poach one of their up and coming stars.
The 18-year-old was named Chelsea’s Young-Player-of-the-Year award after making 17 appearances for the first-team this season.
Arnesen, who has only just left Stamford Bridge, is hoping to take advantage of the chaos surrounding the club at the moment and take McEachran to Germany.
Chelsea are without a manager, having sacked Carlo Ancelotti last weekend and have not yet replaced Arnesen, making it difficult for the club to make big decisions on players.
Despite the expectation place on the England U21 international he has not been awarded a long-term deal and his current contract expires in 2013.
McEachran was expected to be rewarded for making his Premier League and Champions League debuts with a new five-year offer but nothing has materialised.
It is expected Arnesen will try and steal more of Chelsea’s youngsters with Jeffrey Bruma and Patrick van Aanholt also on his wanted list.
