Anfield club make offer for Ewood Park and Stadium of Light starlets.
Liverpool are to make an astonishing £30million bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones and Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.
Manager Kenny Dalglish wants the youngsters to form the backbone of the Reds for the next ten years and is not afraid to splash the cash.
Dalglish has already had a £13million offer turned down for Henderson but will up their offer to £15million according to the Daily Mail.
The club have also asked about the availability of midfielder Lee Cattermole at the Stadium of Light, and a bid of around £10million could be enough to tempt Black Cats boss Steve Bruce.
But Dalglish will have to battle Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal for the signature of £15million-rated Jones.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of Jones and was happy for him to continue his development with Blackburn for at least another year.
But Dalglish’s surprise move may make Wenger put in an offer now rather than risk him losing the talented teenager.
Henderson and Jones are in Spain with the England Under 21 party preparing for this month’s European Championship in Denmark.
Both players are on standby to fly to Merseyside if a deal is completed soon but if not no transfer will happen until after the tournament.
The moves are part of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish’s strategy of buying top English talent, having signed striker Andy Carroll in January for £35m from Newcastle.
