Bolton Wanderers Premier League Fixtures 2011/12

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has inquired about the availability of Manchester United defender Jonny Evans with a view to a permanent move.

The 23-year-old has slipped down the Old Trafford pecking order this season following injury and the emergence of Chris Smalling.

The Northern Ireland international is desperate for regular first-team action and does not see him getting that anytime soon with Smalling, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand all ahead of him.

Evans started only 17 games in all competitions for the Red Devils last campaign and is worried it may affect his chances of playing for his country.

Coyle would love to bring the £8million-rated player to Bolton and will have the money to make an offer if Gary Cahill is sold this summer.

Cahill has been a long-term target for Arsenal, but they have been put off by a £20million asking price.

But now other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City, are reportedly keen on the 25-year-old, a deal looks inevitable.
