Anfield club not finished in the transfer market and will move for Bloomfield Road star.
Liverpool will make an approach to sign Blackpool captain Charlie Adam after sealing a £20million move for Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.
It was expected the Reds would cancel their interest in the Bloomfield Road star as a result of signing Henderson but these reports are wide of the mark.
The 25-year-old remains a key target for manager Kenny Dalglish, who is keen to bolster his alternatives for the coming season, and wants them both playing in the same team, according to The Times.
Dalglish tried to sign Adam in January but was rebuffed by counter-part Ian Holloway who needed his skipper to avid relegation.
But relegated they were and a bid of around £9million is expected to be enough to persuade Blackpool to separate with the Scottish international.
The transfer is a sign of the determination of Liverpool’s owner, Fenway Sports Group, to restore the club to English football’s elite with a series of young British players.
The Anfield club are still in negotiations with Aston Villa over the availability of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing but face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal.
