Reebok Stadium will allow star to move to Eastlands.
Manchester City have been told they can buy Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill for £17million.
Blues boss Roberto Mancini identified the 25-year-old as a major summer transfer target and will get his man if he triggers the release cause in the centre-back’s contract.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle is desperate to boost his limited transfer kitty and will accept players in part-exchange, notably Nedum Onuoha and Dedryck Boyata, according to the Daily Mirror.
Mancini is reluctant to lose his stars and has high hopes for both their futures at Eastlands. He would prefer to offload Craig Bellamy or Shaun Wright-Phillips
But Coyle does not want either player as their wage demands would break the Trotters wage structure and potentially cripple the club.
Ironically it is their high wages that is the reason for Mancini being willing to let the pair go.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also shown an interest in Cahill in the past but have been priced out of a move for the England international.
