Old Trafford boss keen to snap up Belgian international starlet.
Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will look to capture Lille playmaker Eden Hazard as he continues his plans to freshen up his Old Trafford squad.
The Scot will reportedly make an offer in the region of £20m for the Belgian international and will hope that sale of Yohan Cabaye to Newcastle United will persuade Hazard that the time is right to leave the Ligue 1 champions. Ferguson is known to be an admirer of the much sought after 20 year old and is confident he can tempt the youngster in opting for a move to Man United over the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid, both said to be keen on the Lille player.
Deals are already said to be close to completion to bring in Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones and Aston Villa winger Ashley Young to the club and Ferguson plans to continue his summer spending with the capture of youthful players who can help in the club’s transition as a number of elder statesman leave Man United.
Lille will have their hands full trying to keep their top talent from seemingly tempting moves to Europe’s elite and having lost Cabaye to Newcastle they face similar battles to keep the likes of striking duo Gervinho and Moussa Sow at the Stade Lille-Metropole.
With Edwin van der Sar, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville all retired and the likes of Ryan Giggs in the latter stages of his glittering career and injury ravaged centre back Rio Ferdinand’s career stuttering, Ferguson has been promised significant funds to build for the future.
Ferguson is also said to be keen to bring in Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell and Atletico Madrid keeper David de Gea during what appears to be a busy summer of spending for the Premier League title winning boss.
