Welsh side look to snap up experienced midfielder.
Marcos Senna’s agent has confirmed that Swansea have made an approach for his services.
The 34-year-old Brazilian-born Spanish international is out-of-contract at Villarreal and looks set to leave El Madrigal.
“Marcos Senna had a previous conversation by phone with Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers and that made him very proud and honoured with the possible interest of Swansea to have him in the squad for the Premier League,” he told the Western Mail.
“Marcos is very happy with the possibility and of course keen to play Premier League football, but we want to make very clear that we are right now on preliminary contacts.
“But of course Swansea City can be a very attractive option, since Mr Rodgers explained to Marcos his ideas about his team and part of Swansea’s project – which pleased him a lot – and obviously because of the nice and vibrant city of Swansea.”

On the face of it this could be a very wise signing for Swansea City to make. The hugely experienced defensive midfielder is out of contract so there would be no fee involved in a deal to sign the former Villarreal man and whilst he may demand a decent salary he could be the type of player to help keep the Swans in the top tier as many already see Brendan Rogers’ side as odds on for a swift return to the Championship.
The Brazilian born tough tackler moves to La Liga in 2002 and racked up over 200 appearances for the Yellow Submarines and has been capped 28 times by the Spanish national team.
