Bernabeu record buy will not move to Eastlands.
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed speculation of a £150million move to Manchester City.
The 26-year-old moved to the Bernabeu from Manchester United in 2009 for a record-breaking £80million and has scored an incredible 87 goals in 89 games.
The Portuguese international enjoyed a successful season bagging 54 goals including the winner in the Copa del Rey final against fierce rivals Barcelona.
The move was always looking doubtful with his United links and Uefa’s financial fair play rules which will come into play next year.
Ronaldo is currently on £13.5million-a-year but City would have smashed that figure with a whopping £21million annual salary, and he even joked about the temptation of the offer.
“It’s not bad huh? We have to think about it well,” he said. “I’m not going to City. I give you my word. I’m not going. Money is not the most important thing.
“If it was for money I could have the double of what I have.
“If it was for money I would leave. The most important thing is the behaviour of the people and they treat me tremendously here and I am very happy in Madrid.”
