Emirates boss wants to keep youngster.
Arsenal will not sell striker Carlos Vela this summer, according to the player’s agent Eduardo Hernandez.
The 22-year-old was rumoured to be on his way out of North London as Arsene Wenger re-shapes his squad to launch another assault on the Premier League title.
The Mexico international was sent on-loan to West Bromwich Albion for the second half of the season and played a role in keeping the Baggies in the Premier League.
Vela has totalled 62 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 11 times for the Gunners but has failed to show the levels of consistency needed to be a regular first-team member.
But Hernandez claims Vela is still very much a part of manager Arsene Wenger’s plans and hopes his player will progress during this campaign.
“I have had eight conversations with Arsenal, the most recent was last Friday, and Carlos is an Arsenal player, he will stay at Arsenal and is not for sale,” Hernandez told ESPN Radioformula.
“The process with Carlos is a little bit slow.
“Arsene Wenger is an extremely demanding coach, he sent him on loan for six months to West Brom not with the results he wanted, but, nevertheless, everything is going very well.”
