Allianz Arena boss looks to capture Old Trafford duo.
Bayern Munich are ready to help Manchester United recoup £20million of their recent transfer spending by making a bid for Nani.
The Germans believe they can lure the 24-year-old Portuguese after United’s £17m signing of Ashley Young from Aston Villa intensified the competition for midfield places.
But Sir Alex Ferguson wants Nani to stay as he sets about team strengthening and he is even ready to slug it out with Chelsea and Manchester City for Tottenham’s £30m-rated Luka Modric.

Reports are also surfacing that incoming Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes is also looking to pip PSG to the signing of Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov, who has found his first team duties limited by the fine form shown by Mexican international youngster Javier Hernandez.
Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he wants to keep both players but if Nani and Berbatov feel there being forced out by recent signings, with the Portuguese winger sure to come under pressure from Ashley Young, then perhaps it is the players who will push for the move rather than a case of the Old Trafford boss looking to cash in to provide extra funds for further additions this summer.
Nani finished last term as the leading assist maker in the Premier League but was left out of the starting eleven for the Champions League Final, a decision that is said to have greatly upset the flair player and a decision appeared to have backfired given that Man United lacked creativity in the Wembley final and were of course beaten by Barcelona.
Bayern Munich axed Louis Van Gaal towards the end of the last campaign and Heynckes will be looking to freshen up his squad after they lost their Bundesliga title to Borussia Dortmund by some distance, finishing in third spot, some ten points behind the leaders. Miroslav Klose has since been offloaded to Lazio and a return to Germany may well interest Berbatov who had a successful stint with Bayer Leverkusen before moving to Tottenham.
Ferguson has a number of attacking options and with Hernandez and Wayne Rooney as his first choice pairing and with Michael Owen getting a new contract and youngster Danny Welbeck impressing whilst on loan at Sunderland, perhaps the time is right to sell Berbatov, who has just a year left on his current contract and could therefore leave for nothing next summer.
Man United are said to be looking to axe a number of the club’s expansive squad with the likes of Wes Brown, John O’Shea, Darron Gibson, Jonny Evans, Tomasz Kuszczak and Gabriel Obertan all linked with Old Trafford exits and much maligned attacker Bebe has already been farmed out on a season long loan deal to Besiktas.
