Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring young Rennes star to Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson will look to continue his summer of spending with a move for French international midfielder Yann M’Vila as the Old Trafford boss looks to add more steel to his midfield. The Man United manager has already purchase Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea and will look to add more youth to his squad with a bid for the promising young Rennes starlet.
M’Vila is a strong tough tackling defensive midfielder who has already attracted the attention of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and Ferguson is looking to bring in an out and out enforcer and has had scouts watching the 21 year old Amiens born man for the past season.
Ferguson has seen his central midfield options reduced following the retirement of Paul Scholes and the departure of injury prone England international Owen Hargreaves and the Scot is also considering offers for Irishman Darron Gibson.
Man United will reportedly offer around £15m for M’Vila who is also targeted by Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho who is looking to improve his Bernabeu squad in the hope of wrestling superiority from La Liga rivals Barcelona this coming season.
Ferguson is freshening up his Man United squad with an eye to the future and the building of a new generation of talent and the purchasing of Jones from Blackburn and de Gea from Atletico Madrid, coupled with last summer’s acquisitions of Javier Hernandez and Chris Smalling, show a side not wishing to rest on their laurels and even though the Old Trafford side captured the Premier League title they are still looking to plan for the future and see M’Vila as a player worthy of signing.
M’Vila is now a French international regular and has been a mainstay at Rennes and helped the Brittany based side to a sixth place finish last term. General director of Stade Rennais, Pierre Dreossi, has stated his intention to keep the club’s prized possession but may find it hard to keep the player’s head from being turned by such interest.
The allure of a move to Man United as well as the chance to prove his worth at Champions League level may well tempt M’Vila into pushing for a move from the Ligue 1 side he has represented since the age of 14.
