White Hart Lane club confident of signing stars.
Tottenham Hotspur have moved closer to securing a £32million double swoop on star strikers Leandro Damiao of Internacional and Roma’s Mirko Vucinic.
Damiao, 21, has been on Spurs boss Harry Redknapp’s radar for the last 12 months and has had a £13million bid already rejected by the Brazilian club.
But he will up his offer to £14million very soon for the Samba international, which Redknapp expects to be enough to seal his signature.
Internacional want to hold onto their star until the end of the year and Tottenham could agree to this having allowed Sandro to move to north London in a similar deal, only moving to White Hart Lane in August having signed last March.
Damiao has also been attracting interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and teams in Russia and Ukraine, according to The Times.
Internacional President Giovani Luigi has confirmed that they have received a concrete offer from Spurs for Damiao, and expects to hear from them again.
“It was the first concrete offer that we have had,” Luigi said. “I said I do not want to sell right now, but I think they will come back again with a new proposal soon.
“I warned them to come back at the end of the year and with a better offer.”
Tottenham are also in discussions with Roma over a £18million move for Montenegro striker Vucinic, but Spurs want to pay about £5million less for the 27-year-old.
The transfers could signal the end of the road for Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch, who are targets for both Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland respectively.
