Anfield outcasts on their way out?

Milan Jovanovic is set to sign with Belgian club Anderlecht says his agent.

The 30-year old Serbia international experienced a difficult season with the Reds after joining from Standard Liege last summer and was subsequently released at the end of the campaign.

Now he is set to depart England to link up with Anderlecht with his agent telling Foot magazine: “The transfer of Jovanovic to Anderlecht is 99 per cent complete.”

Joe Cole ‘offered Liverpool exit’ by Hamburg
Joe Cole is to be offered the chance to end his Liverpool nightmare with a move to Hamburg.
The former England midfielder started just nine Premier League games for the Reds last season following his free transfer move from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old is happy to stay at Anfield and fight for his place by impressing Kenny Dalglish in training, but the club would prefer him to move on.
Hamburg are willing to pay Cole’s £90,000-a-week salary if he moves to the Bundesliga on loan, but are also prepared to consider a permanent deal.

It seems that Kenny Dalglish is very keen get rid of Anfield flops sooner rather than later and appears ready to allow certain Liverpool players leave for little or no fee whatsoever. Milan Jovanovic being just one example of a player that the Merseyside club is willing to let leave on a free instead of trying to pick up a nominal fee.

Joe Cole is strongly linked with interest coming from the Bundesliga and Hamburg lead the chase and are willing to pay the midfielder’s big wages and it’s now down to the former Chelsea and West Ham man whether he wants to try his luck in Germany.

Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen knows the 30 year old well from their time together at Stamford Bridge but Cole did get a run out in today’s friendly in China and did fairly well. Also on show was Christian Poulsen, who netted, and perhaps the Danish battler has a future at the club after all?

Leicester City have however snapped up left back Paul Konchesky, ending the defender’s fairly disastrous stint at Liverpool during which time the Londoner failed to find form and then experienced the embarrassment of his own mum verbally attacking the club’s supporters and the city of Liverpool itself.
