Tottenham Winger Gareth Bale to Demand £35m AC Milan Move if Luka Modric Leaves?

Serie A giants want White Hart Lane youngster.

Both AC and Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Tottenham left sided player, Gareth Bale.

Reports from Italy suggest that Bale so impressed Italian officials with his form at White Hart Lane, particularly in the Champions League, that he is a target for the high profile Milan clubs.

Inter copped a Bale hat-trick in a Champions League group game, which Tottenham lost out 4 – 3, at the San Siro.

Bale is said to have told the club that if star midfielder Luka Modric is sold, he too will also want to leave White Hart Lane.

Some sources state that AC Milan are very much the more likely of the San Siro sides to make a firm move for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale and clearly Harry Redknapp’s concern would be that Luka Modric forces an exit from White Hart Lane that could then lead to the North London club losing two of their top performers this summer.

Chelsea’s very public interest in Croatian midfielder Modric has left Redknapp having to refuse the 25 year old’s transfer request, leaving the two parties at something of an impasse but there is a very real chance that Daniel Levy will have no choice other than to take the money and run, rather than keeping a player against his will.

Tottenham are yet to bring in any big name players, although did snap up consistent keeper Brad Friedel, and though Redknapp has been told to sell before he can buy, his intention is to offload a series of squad players rather than having to cash in on first team regulars.

Having already sold Jamie O’Hara to Wolves Redknapp now wants to sell the likes of Niko Kranjcar, David Bentley, Robbie Keane, Giovani dos Santos, Alan Hutton, Wilson Palacios, Sebastien Bassong and Younes Kaboul. He would then use the cash to bring in established stars which would in theory then appease Modric and others as the club look to force their way back into the top four picture.

Gareth Bale had a terrific season last term, culminating in the 21 year old winning the PFA Player of the Year award. The former Southampton man was a virtual ever present and netted 11 goals and was particularly effective in Champions League action where he did of course notably net a hat-trick at the San Siro against Inter Milan.

Massimiliano Allegri led AC Milan to a domestic title in his debut season as Rossoneri boss and has already had a very busy summer transfer wise bringing in Philippe Mexès, Taye Taiwo and allowing Andrea Pirlo to move to Juventus.
