Stamford Bridge record signing hopes to prove doubters wrong.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres insists he is ready to put last season behind him and prove his worth to his club.
The 27-year-old joined the Blues last January in a British record £50million from Liverpool but did not enjoy a good start.
The Spain international scored just one goal in 18 appearances for Chelsea last term as they ended the season without any silverware.
Torres says he is ready for the new campaign after a rest and a good pre-season for Chelsea.
“It was a difficult four months for me last season but now I am settled and really happy,” said Torres.
“It’s a new start for me and I am feeling sharper and fitter.
“After five years without a break I could finally enjoy my holiday this summer so I am happier after a rest and some time with my family.
“Now I am feeling good and ready to start the new season.”
Meanwhile Chelsea have arrived in Asia for the pre-season tour of the area.
The Blues begin their tour against a Malaysia XI on Thursday before facing a Thailand XI and Kitchee next week.
After a first introduction to the local media, the players will train this evening at the Shah Alam Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
