Old Trafford star wanted by Serie A giants.
According to reports Juventus have offered €8 million for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgaria international has been a target for Juve for much of the summer and now they are believed to have made a firm bid.
Itasportpress claims Juve General Manager Beppe Marotta has contacted United to make the offer for the centre-forward.
Berbatov now has less than a year to run on his current contract and there are no signs yet that United are willing to extend it.
It is understood that the Italians are waiting on a response from United.

Though Sir Alex Ferguson has reiterated to Dimitar Berbatov that he is very much part of his plans for the coming season, the fact remains that it is entirely likely that Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney remain his more favoured striking options and it may be that the 30 year old Bulgarian decides that an offer to join Juventus and secure regular first team football may make sense at this point in his career.
The fact that Berbatov finished joint top Premier League scorer last season but was still left out of the Champions League Final squad will have stung and whilst there is no doubt that Ferguson rates the former Tottenham man, it still seems likely that he will be no means a regular starter at the Old Trafford club.
Juventus struggled last season and did not secure a Champions League spot for the coming campaign and that may effect new boss Antonio Conte’s chances of bringing in big name signings this summer although he has managed to bring in Andrea Pirlo from AC Milan among other additions to his Bianconeri squad.
Also factor in that Berbatov has just a year to run on his current contract and it does seem that the Man United striker’s Old Trafford future is by no means certain.
