Anfield club to move for Estadio Vicente Calderón star.
Liverpool are lining up a £15million offer for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin after his impressive performances in the Copa America.
The Reds have been on a £40million recruitment drive resulting in Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Alexander Doni being signed.
Godin could be the first defender on his way to Anfield this summer as boss Kenny Dalglish wants to strengthen all areas of his squad, according to Fanatix.
The 25-year-old is currently on international duty with Uruguay in the Copa America and will play in the final on Sunday.
He was a target for Chelsea last January and is a solid centre-back, good in the air and is comfortable on the ball.
Atletico will be reluctant to lose a player that they have only had on their books for 12 months after they signed him from Villarreal for £6.6m last summer.
But a £15million bid could tempt them in to making a quick profit.
Liverpool will also offer Christian Poulsen as part of the deal with the player happy for a move back to Spain where he previously had a spell with Sevilla.
