Emirates club still want teenager.
Arsenal have reopened discussions with Deportivo Saprissa over the signing of striker Joel Campbell.
The 19-year-old was on the verge of completing a move to the Emirates last month before it controversially broke down.
The Costa Rica international failed to turn up to a meeting to discuss personal terms amid rumours of interest from Manchester United.
Real Madrid were also said to have the teenager on their radar while Campbell said he wanted to concentrate on the U20 World Cup.
But the £1million move to Arsenal looks to be back on but there will inevitably be a delay anyway before Gunners fans will see him in north London.
Campbell may have to go out on-loan until he obtains a work permit as he has not played in 75 per cent of Costa Rica’s games over the past two year, despite scoring twice in six national appearances.
“We are talking to Arsenal again,” Campbell told Crunch Sports. “I have not signed yet, but I’m waiting to hear from my agents.”
Meanwhile Arsenal are bracing themselves for a £22million bid from Manchester City in the next 48 hours for midfielder Samir Nasri.
