Fabregas, meanwhile, is understood to have advised Real Madrid’s teenage star Jose Rodriguez to join the Gunners. It is believed Wenger has already spoken to the 16-year-old’s parents regarding a move after showing him around the club and their London Colney training complex.
Madrid are believed to have made a counter-offer of a professional contract when he turns 17 in December but Wenger is confident he can persuade the midfielder, who was named Player of the Tournament at the recent Under-17 World Club Championship in Spain, to move to the Emirates.

One may wonder at the wisdom in Arsenal boss snapping up another youngster to add to the myriad of up and coming talent Arsene Wenger already has at his disposal but at least the deal shows that there are Cesc Fabregas related stories that do not involve his ‘impending’ move to Barcelona.
Jose Rodriguez is reportedly a talented young central midfielder who has been on Real Madrid’s books for a couple of years following his move from Hercules. He is also a Spanish Under 17 international.
