Real Madrid have beaten rivals Barcelona to the signing of a seven-year-old Argentine playmaker.
Leonel Angel Coira will become the La Liga giants youngest ever transfer but it may be a few years until we see him in the famous white shirt.
He will start training with his new side on September 6 after he and his family make the move from his native country, according to Argentinian sports daily Ole.
What may upset the Bernabeu faithful is that Leo’s idol is Barcelona hero Lionel Messi.
The youngster is a talented forward but Ole does say he prefers to pass then to score.
Atletico Madrid were also rumoured to be interested in the youngster, but Real pounced to complete the deal.
His father said: ”It looks good when I say it because I’m the father, but I’m excited to see how he plays with the ball.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s faint hopes of signing Real striker Karim Benzema look to have disappeared with the 23-year-old claiming he is only focused on helping Los Blancos.
The France international had been linked with a £30million move to the Emirates but he refutes claims he has spoken to anyone at Arsenal and remains fully committed to Real Madrid.
“My future is in Madrid,” Benzema said. “I have not spoken with Wenger, nor any other leader at Arsenal.
“My target is clear – to continue here and to win trophies this season.”
