Anfield boss set to sign much needed defensive reinforcement.
KENNY Dalglish has moved for Birmingham star Scott Dann after Liverpool’s pre-season defensive shambles.
Dalglish wants to make the £8m-rated centre-back his fifth summer signing after seeing his side leak 15 goals in six friendlies.
He was eyeing Liverpool-born Dann, 24, earlier in the summer but opted to strengthen his midfield, landing Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson.
Dann, who has been likened to Kop legend Alan Hansen, missed half of last season after picking up a hamstring injury in January.

Comparing Scott Dann to a player with three European Cup winners medals and eight league titles to his name is perhaps a little over the top but there is no denying that the local born defender may be just the ticket as Kenny Dalglish looks to beef up his leaky defence.
The Birmingham City man’s injury last season resulted in the Midlands side falling down the table and getting relegated and now that his central defensive partner Roger Johnson has left for Wolves there is much speculation that a deal is close to being completed.
The 24 year old will give the Merseyside club another option at the back and given that Jamie Carragher and Sotirios Kyrgiakos are a little long in the tooth and that Daniel Agger is constantly injured and Martin Skrtel is currently out, it is clearly an area that Dalglish needs to address this month.
Other options to fill the spot included Gary Cahill but it seems that Bolton want a huge fee for the England international and in all honesty Dann is as good as the Trotters defender and will cost less than half the price.
