With all four Premier League clubs in this afternoon’s draw, we look at some of the best games involving English teams in Champions League history.
20. Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea: United win 6-5 on pens (Final, 2008)
The first, and only, all English Champions League final was a tense classic. Cristiano Ronaldo gave United the lead before Frank Lampard equalised before half-time. Didier Drogba was sent off in extra-time and the tie went to penalties. John Terry slipped and hit the post, before Nicolas Anelka was denied by Edwin van der Sar.
19. AC Milan 0-2 Arsenal (Last 16, 2008)
A 30-yard strike from Cesc Fabregas and a Theo Walcott-fed tap in for Emmanuel Adebayor, meant Arsenal became the first English side to beat Milan in the San Siro, as Arsenal’s young guns came of age.
