So what do you think happened? Is the Stamford Bridge skipper guilty of racially abusing the Loftus Road defender or a victim of his own stained reputation?
The incident is captured on video below.
John Terry has admitted calling the QPR centre back a ‘Black c**t’ but only in the context of defending himself from a claim that he had abused Ferdinand. The England man claims he shouted “Oi Anton, did you think I called you a black ****?” It’s an odd defence but nonetheless it is the Chelsea man’s version of events.
This whole saga has dragged on and various people have come out supporting either party but as yet FA is still to act on the issue.
Anton Ferdinand today released a statement.
I finalised my statement with the Football Association with regards to the incident that occurred last Sunday at Loftus Road in our Barclays Premier League fixture against Chelsea.
I have very strong feelings on the matter, but in the interests of fairness and not wishing to prejudice what I am sure will be a very thorough enquiry by the FA, this will be my last comment on the subject until the enquiry is concluded.
I would like to thank the Club, Tony Fernandes, Amit Bhatia, Neil Warnock, the supporters and my fellow professionals for their unwavering support.
So what do you think occurred? And if found guilty, what punishment should be handed to the Blues captain?
