Anfield side keen on Stamford Bridge man.
Liverpool will reportedly look to lure Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou to Anfield as Kenny Dalglish looks to bring in the Ivory Coast international to add firepower to his squad.
26 year old Blues back up man Kalou is said to be ready to leave Stamford Bridge after six seasons of trying to convince a series of managers of his worth. The former Feyenoord man has rarely been considered a first team regular and feels the time is right to consider a move away from the West London club.
Dalglish is keen to boost his attacking options having seen £35m man Andy Carroll struggle to find form, leaving Luis Suarez to carry the goal-scoring load. As a pairing the January signings have rarely clicked and the Merseyside outfit’s only alternative options come in the form of Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy, who are both over 30 years of age and primarily used in wide areas.
Andre Villas-Boas has relegated Kalou to arguably seventh choice up front with the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Daniel Sturridge, Juan Mata, Nicolas Anelka and even Romelu Lukaku effectively ahead of the talented forward who can play either in an orthodox striking role or out wide.
Kalou has notched up a decent total of 57 goals in 135 starts for the Blues and is thought that Liverpool will be willing to offer up to £6m for his services, which could be seen as a fairly strong offer for a player who’s contract is up at the end of the season.
