Arsenal are reportedly ready to snap up unhappy Man United midfielder Paul Pogba as Arsene Wenger looks to take advantage of the stalling contract talks the youngster is involved in with his Old Trafford employers.

The Gunners boss is hoping to bring the young Frenchman to the Emirates Stadium as he looks to beef up his squad and is reportedly willing to offer the 18 year old an improvement on the £15k a week deal that Pogba is said to have turned down last week.

Pogba moved to Man United in contentious circumstances back in 2009 when his Le Havre side had intially accused the Premier League club had ‘tapped-up’ their player before agreeing to an undisclosed sum for the powerfully build rangy midfielder.

Wenger will go up against other interested parties for the French Under 19 international but the Arsenal manager’s willingness to give youthful players regular first team action is said to appeal to Pogba who has been disappointed at the lack of action he has seen during his two and a half years at Man United.

Paul Pogba is still to play a minute of Premier League football but Arsenal scouts are said to be impressed by what they have seen and Wenger is willing to offer the teenager a long term deal and will hope to beat the likes of AC Milan and PSG to the player from the Paris suburbs who has been likened to Patrick Vieira in playing style.

Pogba was apparently unhappy about Sir Alex Ferguson’s reticence to trust him with more first team football and then having seen the likes of Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck become regular members of Man United’s starting eleven he has made it clear he wishes to consider offers.

Arsenal will look to agree a pre-contract deal in January ahead of Pogba’s contract running out in the summer. It will then be for a tribunal to decide the fee that the North London side will pay as he will not be available on a free transfer as he is too young to be considered for a Bosman move.
