Emirates Stadium boss keen on Argentine.
Spurs and Arsenal Enter Race to Sign Premier League Star
After making inflated contract demands from current club Queens Park Rangers, midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has seen his future at Loftus Road cast into doubt, with a number of publications reporting interest from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
With QPR seemingly unwilling to bow to his demands on a new deal, Spurs and Arsenal are to take advantage of his predicament by offering him a way out of Loftus Road with the potential to be playing European football next term.
Faurlin’s agent, Lucas Cominelli, revealed that his client has gained attention from two Premier League clubs as well as from Italy.
“When the phone rings and there are two Premier League teams and one from Serie A expressing their admiration, it’s a testimony to the way Ali has started in the top flight,” Cominelli revealed.
However, with Arsenal, Tottenham and supposedly Napoli all interested in his signature, the time could be right for Faurlin to make a controversial switch across the capital.
Alejandro Faurlin has indeed impressed this term and was a hugely influential player in QPR’s Championship promotion campaign and it’s no surprise that both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on the 25 year old Argentine, who’s move to Loftus Road was a contentious one.
The Rosario born midfielder’s move to West London caused a stir due to the involvement of third-parties ownership, QPR were fined in 2011 as it against regulations put in place by the Football Association after a similar case involving Carlos Tévez.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be monitoring the rangy box to box midfielder and a move in January may make a great deal of sense given the continued absence through injury of starlet Jack Wilshere. Faurlin is valued at around £10m but Neil Warnock will be loathed to lose the talented performer who has been an ever present thus far this season.
