Serbian international identified as Anfield target.
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move to bid for Ajax attacker Miralem Sulejmani as the Merseyside identify possible striking targets.
Anfield director of football Damien Comolli is said to have earmarked the Serbian international after a series of impressive displays which have impressed Liverpool scouts. The 23 year old Belgrade born forward has been in great form this season, netting 10 goals in 14 Eredivisie matches and having successfully snapped up Luis Suarez from the Amsterdam Arena the Merseyside club may feel that they can repeat the trick.
Sulejmani is an adaptable attacker who can play as an orthodox striker as well as part of a front pair or in the whole behind the front-men. The former Heerenveen man has steadily improved since his move to Ajax in July 2008 and is now in the best form of his career.
Liverpool do not have a great many attacking options and rely very heavily on Luis Suarez to supply the finishing touches in or around the box. England international Andy Carroll continues to struggle for consistency and alternative options in the form of Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy are in the latter stages of their careers and considered more effective in wide roles.
The £10m rated Ajax man may well be interested in a move to the Premier League after four and a half years in Holland and the fact that Frank de Boer’s side have fallen away this season after clinching the title last term. They find themselves in fourth spot in the table, some eight points behind pace-setters AZ Alkmaar.
