Bernabeu boss wants Stamford Bridge striker.
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho still has hopes of a reunion with Chelsea icon Didier Drogba.
And Sport says he’s prepared to wait until the summer to bring Drogba to Spain.
The Ivorian is off contract in June and those close to his camp says he’s willing to run down his deal as he considers his options.
Mourinho is convinced Drogba would be a big success in Spain, even at 34, next season.
Real Madrid could do with alternative attacking options as currently they only have two recognised strikers in Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain, but is a move for a 34 year old the best option open to Jose Mourinho?
Drogba is very fit and still able to keep up with the best of them but clearly he is in the latter stages of his glittering career and may have a season or two left in the tank and would be a cost effective option for the La Liga giants. The Ivory Coast international will be at the African Nations Cup for much of January and early February so there is little worth in Mourinho pursuing the Chelsea striker next month.
Andre Villas-Boas appears to be pushing for youth and is unlikely to fight off interest in Drogba and indeed the former Marseille man will be able to sign a pre-contract deal in the January transfer window.
