The last Eredivisie goal machine to move to Anfield has done okay…
After being quoted £27m for Darren Bent, Liverpool may look elsewhere for firepower.
Like most clubs in Europe, they have a close eye on FC Twente youngster Luuk de Jong, who is lighting up the Eredivisie goalscoring charts.
The 21 year-old has 10 goals in 17 league games, and has expressed interest in moving to England.
“Every player has dreams,” explained de Jong.
“Mine is to play in a nice foreign competition one day. And the Premier League is a really nice competition.”
However, with Steve McClaren now back in charge of FC Twente, he may have sought reassurances that his best players would not be sold.
Would Luuk de Jong flourish at Anfield?
