Roma man linked with Etihad Stadium move.
Sky Sports understands that Manchester City are in talks over a deal for Roma’s David Pizarro.
City boss Roberto Mancini had said he was not expecting any new arrivals at the Etihad Stadium this month.
However, he also conceded he would like to bolster his midfield and now a deal for Chilean ace Pizarro has emerged.
Now Sky Sports understands that City are holding talks about a possible deadline day switch for Pizarro.

David Pizarro is a player that Roberto Mancini will know well, having signed the Chilean from Udinese when he was Inter Milan boss, and now it appears that the Man City boss is keen to reunite with the talented midfield veteran. The 32 year old only remained at the San Siro for one season before moving to the Stadio Olimpico.
The pint sized schemer is now in his sixth year at Roma but may well be tempted by a move to the Premier League where no doubt he will receive a huge pay rise and the chance of a new challenge.
Pizarro has racked up over 150 appearances for Roma and Mancini may well be keen to add more strength in depth in his central midfield area. With Yaya Toure likely to be away for at least a couple more weeks at the African Cup of Nations the Italian boss may feel that a move for the box to box midfielder could be a sensible, cost effective addition.
Mancini has the likes of Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong and Owen Hargreaves to call upon as well as players such as James Milner who can also be used in a central midfield role.
