French star set to depart Old Trafford.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is the subject of a last minute transfer window bid from Juventus, according to the Daily Mirror.
If Pogba does move, he could be the second of the Red Devils’ best young players to leave Old Trafford in the space of 24 hours, with troubled prospect Ravel Morrison also set to depart for West Ham at some point this afternoon.
Whilst clearly quite different players, there are parallels between Pogba’s mooted move and Morrison’s expected switch.
Morrison has grown frustrated with his lack of promotion from the reserves, as he believes he is ready to make the step up.
Sir Alex Ferguson told him he wouldn’t be allowed to train with the first team until he could arrive on time for training every day for three months, according to the Guardian.
Morrison didn’t manage it, and now Ferguson appears to have become frustrated with his lack of professionalism, and has let him go.
Pogba seems to be looking to move on because he feels he ought to have had more first team opportunities than he has been granted.
The teenage Frenchman has made the occasional substitute appearance in the Carling Cup this season, but does not seem to have featured as much as he would have liked.
Both players’ contracts have now run down, and Manchester United look set to lose out on two of their best prospects.
