On Sunday, the highlight of the weekend takes place at 1.30pm as Arsenal and Tottenham do battle in the North London derby at the Emirates. The Gunners have had a week to forget of course, while Tottenham still hold title hopes, so the pressure is on.
After a dismal display against AC Milan in the Champions League Arsene Wenger must get a result here to ease the discord which is growing amongst fans. A win over Blackburn and a demoralising defeat to Sunderland in the FA Cup will do little to ease the worries – only a win against their North London neighbours Spurs will do.
The Gooners are living in a goldfish bowl at the moment and could crumble under a Tottenham onslaught, who lets not forget are 10 points behind in the table.
The 7/4 available on Harry’s men looks to big to ignore, and Spurs will never have a better opportunity to beat their rivals at the Emirates and this occasion looks too good to miss.
At the same time on Sunday, the Carling Cup Final takes place as Championship side Cardiff take on Liverpool at Wembley.
Kenny Daglish’s men are predictably favourites for the tie at a jaw dropping price of 4/9, which does look a little short for punters, considering three of the last six Carling Cup finals have finished in a draw.
Craig Bellamy looks a cracking bet at 5/1 to score against his old club and that price is sure not to last long.
Elsewhere, Premier League Champions Manchester United travel to Norwich City. This is a tough test for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men, but if they are to keep the pressure on Manchester City, three points is a must.
United look a little short of form at the moment and the 11/2 for the home win for the Canaries is sure to attract plenty of attention.
Finally on Sunday afternoon, Stoke City – who take on Valencia this week in the Europa League – host Swansea City at the Britannia Stadium looking to end a run of four successive Premier League defeats.
This has a draw all over it, and the 1-1 correct score could reap dividends.
