North London side look to snap up Werder Bremen man. Experienced keeper on his way to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are being linked with Werder Bremen goal Tim Wiese.
Spurs need to find a replacement for want-away keeper Heurelho Gomes and have been offered the experienced German.
Cashed-strapped Werder announced this morning that Wiese will be leaving at the end of the season.
Along with Spurs, AC Milan have also been linked with 30 year-old Germany international.
Given that Brad Friedel is closing in on his 41st birthday and with Carlo Cudicini similarly in the tail end of his career and with Heurelho Gomes having butter for fingers, a move for German international Tim Wiese would be a sensible one, especially as the White Hart Lane side could land the 30 year old on the cheap with Werder Bremen being in a financial pickle.
Werder Bremen are not likely to secure a place in the Champions League for next term and could miss out on the Europa League all together and that may further harm the Bundesliga side to the extent that their top talents may be sacrificed.
Wiese has over 350 top level appearances to his name and is likely to be part of Joachim Low’s German national team set-up for the Euro 2012 finals.
