Anfield side look to bring in further attacking options. Kenny Dalglish sets his sights on two in form Dutch international hotshots.
Italian source Tuttomercato have stated that Liverpool will look to bring in FC Twente forward Luuk De Jong as an alternative to countryman Dirk and the Anfield side are also reportedly ready to make a move for Sporting Lisbon hotshot Ricky Van Wolfswinkel according to reports from the Metro.
Liverpool could well do with alternative attacking options having only netted 40 Premier League goals this term, fewer than relegation strugglers Blackburn Rovers who the Merseyside club edged last night, and though Andy Carroll did get on the score-sheet the fact is that the former Newcastle United man is still to make an impact.
Luis Suarez has done well as a lone target man but could well work well with a strike partner and both De Jong and Wolfswinkel are in the form of their careers and would both be tempted by a move to Liverpool this summer, and neither would cost the earth to boot.
Both players will be fighting for a spot in Bert Van Marwijk’s Euro 2012 squad but given the top quality strikers ahead of them in the Dutch national team queue, the likes of Robin Van Persie and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to name just two, it is likely that one of the pair may miss out.
Both players also adhere to Liverpool’s long term youthful transfer policy with De Jong being 21 and Wolfswinkel having turned 23 in January.
