It’s been reported that the Wolves captain could make a surprise return to his old club, with Chris Hughton expressing an interest in the centre back.
Johnson joined Wolves from Birmingham last summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship. The Englishman was a rock in the Birmingham defense during his tenure at the club but has unfortunately been able to recreate the same form at Molineux.
Following Johnson’s on-field fall out with ‘keeper Wayne Hennessey recently, it is believed that the two players have struggled to make amends. It is unlikely that Wolves will sell Hennessy who, along with Jarvis, have been Wolves’ two best players this season.
Wolves are likely to be relegated this season following a poor campaign, and Terry Connor may decide that cashing in on the ex-City player would be a smart move, especially if he’s looking to improve his team’s striking options this summer.
Birmingham currently sit fourth in the Championship, seven points clear of Brighton in seventh place, and manager Chris Hughton knows his side stand a good chance of a Premier League return next season. If his side get promoted, it is likely that he will look to bolster his defense, therefore making Johnson an ideal signing.
Johnson made 76 appearances for Birmingham between 2009-2011, scoring two goals.
