Catalan side keen on Stamford Bridge star.
Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola will reportedly look to lure Chelsea attacker Juan Mata to the Nou Camp this summer and will hope that he can persuade the former Valencia man would be tempted by a move back to La Liga. The 23 year old attacker has been in fine form despite the fact his West London club have struggled in the Premier League this season.
Mata arrived at Stamford Bridge last August for a fee of £23.5m and has arguably been the club’s most consistent performer this term, notching up 13 goals and 18 assists in all competitions this term. Andre Villas-Boas brought the talented Spanish international from Valencia but he has been linked with interest from Barcelona during his tenure at the Mestalla.
The Burgos born winger four years at Real Madrid but failed to break through into the first team and left for Valencia in 2007 and thrived alongside the likes of David Silva and David Villa before being lured to West London.
Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola may well feel his side needs further attacking options given that the aforementioned David Villa struggled for form before being sidelined and new signing Alexis Sanchez hasn’t exactly set the world alight in his debut season.
Roman Abramovich is unlikely to accept offers for a player who only arrived less than a year ago but the uncertainty that comes with not having a permanent manager on board could leave Chelsea vulnerable to such an approach and if they do not secure Champions League football for next term then perhaps some of their star turns will look to force their way to the exit.
