Manchester United and England international Danny Welbeck has reportedly accepted a deal which would see him remain at Old Trafford for the next five years….
Danny Welbeck is reportedly set to sign a new five-year deal at Manchester United which will see him earn £45,000-a-week.
Reports coming out of Old Trafford this evening state that Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal at the club.
Welbeck – whose current contract expires next summer – and United have reportedly reached an agreement that both parties say will be signed in the near future.
A deal in the region of approximately £45,000-a-week looks set to be enough to keep the England International at Old Trafford for another five seasons, at least.
The highly-rated 21-year-old England international, who has forced his way into the Red Devils’ first-team this season ahead of Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez, has enjoyed an excellent season following a successful loan spell at Sunderland last year.
Ferguson has huge faith in the Manchester-born forward’s talent and believes the youngster is constantly improving as he develops physically.
“We were always aware of Danny Welbeck’s ability,” said the United manager earlier this year. The issue with him now is addressing the physical side.
“Our stats show there’s still a bit to do before he becomes a complete adult.
“He has a good attitude, although he should have, he’s a young player with an opportunity at Manchester United.
“That’s one of the reasons you pick these, because they show their temperament as they come through the youth programmes and the reserves.”
Welbeck has scored 13 goals in 39 appearances for United this season.
