Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov could be on his way out of the Etihad stadium this summer following interest from Italian side Inter Milan…
Inter Milan are hoping to seal a £10million move for Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov. Milan are keen on the left-back as they make plans for the summer transfer window, having suffered a torrid season in Serie A.
The Manchester City defender could be on his way to the Italian giants this summer following two seasons at the Etihad stadium under manager Roberto Mancini.
Inter Milan have endured a significant change of fortunes of late, which sees them sitting fifth in Serie A, needing at least a victory in one of their last three games if they’re to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Italian giants recently sacked former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri following their worst start to a Serie A season in many years, and face the realism of playing Europa League football next season.
New head coach Andrea Stramaccioni will certainly be backed in this transfer window, and has eyed up Kolarov as one of his first signings – although the Serbian is only likely to move to the San Siro if Champions League qualification is assured.
The 26-year-old Serbia international moved to City from Lazio for £16m in 2010 and it is believed that the Manchester club will have to take a £6m cut if they’re to sell, with reports of a £10m bid being tabled by the Italian giants.
The emergence of Gael Clichy at the Etihad this season has seen left-back Kolarov spend much of his time warming the bench, often being used as an impact sub because of his pin-point accuracy from set pieces.
