Chelsea smash! Hazard’s on board and £38m Hulk will be next to arrive
Belgian playmaker and Porto’s Brazil striker will join Torres in attack as Abramovich powers ahead with revamp of his European Cup winners
Roman Abramovich has fitted another piece into his £120million Eden project at Chelsea – and Porto striker Hulk will be next.
Now, Blues oligarch Abramovich wants to complete Europe’s most expensive front line by unleashing £32m Hazard, Hulk, who’ll cost £38m, and £50m Fernando Torres next season.
Abramovich is expected to add Brazil striker Hulk – real name Givanildo Vieira de Souza – to his beauty parade now the Porto forward has agreed terms on a four-year contract.
Hulk, 25, is contracted to Porto until 2016, but has now hinted broadly that he is on the brink of leaving.
He said: “I will always continue to work hard and keep my feet on the ground, regardless of whether I stay at Porto.
“I have won many titles in the past four years at Porto, and I think that I have a great relationship with everyone.
“If the time has come to move on, I’ll do so with a good feeling. I have enjoyed a great time here. I’m sure that they will understand the motives behind my decision if I leave.”

Roman Abramovich sure feels like spending doesn’t he. Perhaps having seen Man City rule the roost in financial terms in recent transfer windows the Russian billionaire is now ready to splash the cash to help his Champions League winners mount a genuine title bid next term.
Having signed Eden Hazard and Marko Marin this source states that the Blues £120m spending spree is set to continue with moves for FC Porto forward Hulk and Ajax right back Gregory van der Wiel.
25 year old Brazilian Hulk will reportedly cost Chelsea £38m and this source believes that the strong forward will line up alongside Fernando Torres in the West London side’s new look attack.
Hulk has notched up a very impressive 57 goals in his past two seasons, helping Porto to back to back domestic titles and a Europa League success. He is clearly a player that former boss Andre Villas-Boas knew well from his time in charge of the Portuguese side.
Gregory van der Wiel is another target according to the Daily Mirror and the Dutch international, currently on national team duty ahead of the Euro 2012 finals, could well be reliable option to fill the right back role that has been something of a problem area of Chelsea.
