Sir Alex Ferguson appears to be in full swing as he gets to grips with the job of adding to his Old Trafford squad. Having already signed Shinji Kagawa, pending full completion of a deal to sign the Japanese international, the Scot has now apparently landed Angelo Henriquez.
The teenage Chilean forward has made an instant impact with Universidad de Chile, scoring 10 goals in 15 appearances this term and a £3m fee seems a fair price to pay for a player who is considered one of the hottest prospects in South American football.
Man United will hope to secure a work permit for the 18 year old but if they fail to do so they will reportedly send him out on loan to a European club to gain the experience he needs to secure a spot in the Chilean national team, having already represented the Under 17 side.
Ferguson may well be looking for other attacking signings, those who can fit directly into his first team squad as opposed to the inexperienced Henriquez, as Michael Owen has left the club and Dimitar Berbatov looks likely to do likewise and with Javier Hernandez failing to reach the heights of his first campaign the Man United boss will need to beef up his squad to add more firepower ahead of the new season.
