Drogba closing in on China switch as Shanghai Shenhua confirm advanced talks
Didier Drogba has entered the final stages of negotiation with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua ahead of his much-anticipated move to the Far East.
The striker left Chelsea at the end of the season, signing off with the decisive penalty in the Champions League final, but hopes to continue playing for at least two more season.
Drogba has been linked with Real Madrid – joining up with former boss Jose Mourinho – and Dubai-based club Al Wasl.

Didier Drogba’s career has been at something of a stand-still in recent weeks with the Ivory Coast having to consider a number of possible options after his Chelsea deal came to an end at the beginning of the month and now a move to join Nicolas Anelka at Shanghai Shenhua appears to be close.
The 34 year old forward finished his Chelsea career in style, scoring goals in FA Cup and Champions League final successes and such an end was a fitting way to draw a line under that portion of Drogba’s career but clearly the veteran still feels he has a lot to offer but appears keen to make a move to China as opposed to entertaining any European offers that are on the table.
Drogba netted 157 goals in his eight year spell in West London and will hope to add more to his tally if/when he moves to Shanghai.
