Old Trafford attacker on Carlo Ancelotti’s wish-list.
Big spending Ligue 1 side PSG are readying a bid for Man United winger Nani who is reportedly unhappy at the lack of progress in ongoing contract talks with his Old Trafford side. The Portuguese attacker has made financial demands that Sir Alex Ferguson is seemingly unwilling to meet which has led some to believe that the Scot is ready to listen to offers for the 25 year old.
Carlo Ancelotti is looking to spend big this summer as he looks to improve his Parc des Princes having seen Montpellier pip PSG to the Ligue 1 title in the final week of the season. The club’s Qatari owners are willing to fund significant moves in the transfer market and the former Chelsea boss sees Nani as a ‘Marquee’ signing he will look to pursue this summer.
Nani has spent much of his Man United career in the shadow of international team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo but the Cape Verde born winger came into his own in 2010/11, playing a starring role in their Premier League title triumph that term but crushingly was left out of the Champions League final against Barcelona.
Ferguson’s apparent pursuit of Tottenham winger Gareth Bale may further suspicion that Nani may be forced out, not least given that Man United also have the likes of Ashley Young, Luis Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck on hand to play on the flanks.
PSG are said to be willing to pay up to £25m for the Man United man, a fee that Ferguson may consider accepting.
