Hammers boss wants England international but is only willing to pay small sum for his services.
West Ham are reportedly interested in bringing Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell to Upton Park.
The 24-year-old has suffered an injury-hit three years with the Black Cats – making just 18 appearances last season.
The Hammers are set to offer £2 million for the former Manchester United youngster.

Whilst it’s true that Frazier Campbell has suffered with a succession of injury concerns in recent seasons and is perhaps not the most prolific marksman around there is simply no way that an offer as derisory as £2m would be accepted by Martin O’Neill.
The 24 year old former Man United man could well add another option to Sam Allardyce’s attack plans and we are after all talking about a player who won his first England cap less than six months ago.
Any decision Black Cats boss O’Neill takes over Campbell’s Sunderland future will probably depend on whether the Northern Irish boss is ready to make an offer for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner following his reasonably successful season long loan spell.
If he decides to pass on the Danish international then the option to lose another of the few strikers he does possess becomes all the more unlikely.
