Looking at Italy to begin with, they will be delighted to be in the final four as not many people had expected them to go so far in the tournament.

They came into Euro 2012 on the back of three straight defeats and with confidence in the squad extremely low. Credit must go to Claudio Prandelli and his side though as they managed to raise their game when it really mattered and have still not been beaten in the competition.

There is no doubt that Andrea Pirlo has been the man of the tournament for the Italians so far. Against England last time out, a game which Italy dominated from start to finish, Pirlo was exceptional and didn’t seem to put a foot wrong.

This time out, Italy face their biggest test of the Championships so far and are the underdogs to reach the final. You can back them at 4/1 to win the tie inside 90 minutes.

As for Germany, they seem to have got to the semi-finals without really breaking sweat or being challenged.

This is not to say they have had an easy run-in though as they were in the toughest group of the tournament.

Joachim Loew’s men made light work of their opponents though which goes to show was a class outfit they are. The Germans play some of the most exciting attacking football out of any team and have won a lot of fans for how they play.

In the quarter-final against Greece, Loew rested some key players which turned out to be an incredibly smart move as they won the match 4-2.

This time out, they will be hoping to continue their form and not be eliminated in the latter stages, something that has happened in the last three major tournaments.

In terms of the betting for Germany, they have odds of 20/21 to make it to the final in normal time.
