Rivals keen on full-back.
Manchester United and Liverpool are set to battle it out for Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre.
The 26-year-old is wanted by the duo who believe the lure of Premier League football will tempt him south of the border.
Manchester United are in the market for a left-back and have been strongly linked with Everton’s Leighton Baines. But the Merseysiders have priced England international Baines out a move and United have been quick to turn their attentions to the Honduran.
Liverpool are also monitoring the left-sider and see him as competition for Jose Enrique and Stewart Downing. New Reds boss Brendan Rogers is an avid Celtic fan and has watched Izaguirre on a number of occasions.
Izaguirre joined Celtic in summer 2010 from his native Honduras but quickly established himself as one of the most exciting players in Scotland. The speedy left -footer suffered a serious ankle injury at the beginning of last season but returned to the side in January to play a key role in Celtic’s title win.
The Bhoys are reluctant to lose Izaguirre but could succumb to a bid of around £6 million from one of the Premier League duo.
