White Hart Lane winger out of Stuart Pearce’s squad.

Bale ‘to miss Olympics’

Bale was widely anticipated to be included in manager Stuart Pearce’s GB team for the Olympic tournament starting at the end of next month.

But Press Association Sport is reporting the 22-year-old Wales international has suffered a recurrence of an old back and hip injury after pulling up while running.

What are the odds? Just as the Olympics hone into view Gareth Bale pulls out with a ‘recurrence’ of back AND hip injuries. Could this be the first of many pull-outs as Stuart Pearce gets his troops together for the 2012 Olympic push?

How does one simultaneously experience a ‘recurrence’ of both back and hip injuries? Must have been something pretty strenuous to pull that off. What are the odds that the 22 year old makes a full recovery in time for any major pre-season matches Tottenham have lined up?
